Cadiz won a nervy game against a desperate Terrassa side in front of a packed Carranza. With the visitors needing a win to have any chance of survival, it was clear neither team could afford to settle for a draw. Esparrago included Abraham Paz in the starting line-up after last weeks red card at Pontevedra was rescinded, whilst Suarez and Fleurquin started in the centre of midfield. Before the game huge banners were unveiled in the Fondo Norte, including a giant shirt, unfurled from behind the goal reaching almost to the top of the Fondo Norte. Cadiz flew out of the blocks, and the first 30 minutes was as fine a display as the home fans have witnessed this season. With Terrassa often leaving 3 up, Cadiz soon exploited the spaces being left down the wings, and Jonathan Sesma and more notably Enrique took on their respective full backs at every opportunity. It was Man of the Match Enrique who carved out the first chance. After breaking down the right he tormented Héctor before laying the ball into the path of the onrushing Fleurquin, but the Uruguayan blazed over from 15 yards out. Next it was Sesma who found himself in a good position after a corner routine straight from the training ground, but unfortunately his angled drive flew inches past the far top corner. Terrassa continued to try and stretch the game, and a long ball found Sesma cutting in from the left, but this time his low volley was held by keeper, Valle. As the pressure grew, another corner from the right was headed goalwards at the near post and again Valle was on hand to make a fine save, the ball dropping at a defenders feet to clear. The breakthrough came just before the half hour mark, a near post corner from Sesma was glanced in by De Quintana. The crowd celebrated and attention switched back to the radios for news on other results. But instead of building on their impressive start, the team dropped further and further back allowing Terrassa more opportunity to push into the Cadiz half, and Armando was relieved to see a low volley fly across the face of goal and wide for a goal kick. Half time came and it was suddenly a much more even game than the first half an hour suggested it would be.

The second half started and Terrassa knew they needed to score at least twice, and their pressure won them a few corners as Cadiz got more and more edgy. Their equaliser came just before the hour, and it was a mistake from Suarez that handed them the goal. The midfielders attempted header back to his keeper was seized upon by Maikel, but Armando managed to punch the ball clear. Unfortunately the ball fell at the feet of Abraham, and with Armando out of position, the midfielders 30 yard shot bounced into the empty net as 20,000 Cadistas fell silent. Manolo Perez came on for Suarez, and the big midfielders set piece expertise immediately started to cause problems for the visiting team, who still needed to find a winner themselves. The breakthrough came in the 67th minute. As the Terrassa defence pushed up to leave Oli offside, the captain walked back and played no part in a move, which allowed Pavoni to latch on to a through ball and break free towards the Terrassa goal. As he approached the edge of the area and drew the keeper, he squared the ball for Sesma to ram the ball home into the empty net. The crowd went wild but after the change of the game after the opening goal no-one was taking anything for granted. Five minutes later they were handed a massive lift when Rubén Lopéz went straight threw the back of Pavoni on the half way line, and referee Orueta Ibarrola decided the tackle was worthy of a straight red card. Bezares came on for the Argentinian who hobbled back to the dug out to a standing ovation from the fans. The match was sealed in the 82nd minute when Enrique broke clear through the middle. As he entered the box he was taken from behind by sub Rodriguez, and the referee pointed to the spot whilst sending the visitors down to nine men. Manolo Perez rifled the ball into the bottom right hand corner as attention again returned to the radios in the stand. With the 3 points secure, Dani Navarrete was brought on for his first appearance since his knee injury sustained against Salamanca.

The match ended, sending Terrassa down to the Segunda B division. Minutes later a roar erupted as news of Almeria's late equaliser at Recreativo meant the fellow Andalucians can not now finish above Cadiz. Other results mean that Alavés are definitely promoted, whilst Cadiz will gain promotion with a win at Xerez next week, and a loss for Celta Vigo or a draw or worse for Eibar will also clinch promotion for Los Amarillos no matter what their result. Celta Vigo fans were visibly not happy with their teams home loss with Eibar, and despite 7 days ago celebrating promotion, the 3 points they were docked for fielding an ineligible youngster last week means they are now below Cadiz on goal difference.
