 The
only change to the starting line up this week sees Carlos Caballero start with
Abraham on the bench. It was the home side who started strongly forcing Cadiz on
to the back foot and needing to defend from deep but despite this pressure there
were no really clear chances in the first half an hour. Gradually los amarillos
started to win some of the initiative back and they looked dangerous when
Caballero swung over a couple of corners but there big problem at the moment is
creating good scoring chances from open play. Casilla was called to action to
pull off an excellent save against a shot from Farinos and just before half time
Delibasic was through in the area but a last ditch tackle by Alvaro Silva was
enough to keep the score all square at the half time whistle.
 As
in the first half it was the home team who came out of the blocks quickest with
Tote catching out Alvaro Silva from a clearance to manage to get a shot away
that was just wide of the mark. With just twenty minutes to go the deciding
moment of the contest occurred. Farinos stroked the ball through into the Cadiz
box where Delibasic was bearing down on the ball in a race with Casilla who
rushed off his line but it was the Hercules forward who got there first and as
he nicked the ball Casilla clattered him to the ground giving the referee no
option other than to award Hercules a penalty, which also earned Casilla a
yellow card. Farinos stepped up to take the penalty and he stroked it past
Casilla to make it 1-0. A few minutes later Gracia gave the Nigerian, Ogbeche,
his debut and it is fair to say that Cadiz started to look a bit more
dangerous upfront with him on the pitch, although he will need some time to
adapt to the team. He did however show that he is not scared to shoot and he was
just off the mark with a free kick and a further effort before the end.
Next up is another tough game at home against Recreativo who were relegated
from the Primera Liga last season.
