Opportunities to shine continue for Enrique, Limia and Lucas, who all started  again for the second week running. The other changes saw Velazquez come in for the injured Vella and Pablo started in place of the injured Lobos.

The match started with Cadiz looking sharp, especially down the flanks where Enrique and Sesma looking dangerous. However it was Elche who had the first real effort when in the 13th minute a 30 yard effort  flew well over the bar. Just a few minutes later a ball from midfield over the top of the Elche defence found Enrique with just the keeper to beat but he unselfishly rolled the ball across goal for Sesma to slot the ball home but amazingly his effort from 3 yards out was diverted one handed by Willy in the Elche goal and behind for a corner. In the 25th minute good play through midfield saw the ball at the increasingly impressive Acuña who cut back inside before firing the ball just over the bar. Just four minutes later Elche broke quickly from defence after a Cadiz corner but good work from the Cadiz defence saw the ball played out to Miguel Garcia, who passed it onto Sesma in the middle of the park, he quickly turned it to his right to the feet of Enrique, who then fed the ball back into the path of Sesma who beat two defenders before slotting the ball under Willy to make it 1-0 to the home team. A couple of minutes later poor play between Velazquez and Enrique on the edge of the Cadiz area allowed Elche to get round behind the defence and clip a good ball across to the centre of the area but neither of the two attackers could make anything of the chance.

In the 36th minute the impressive Enrique was fouled out on the right and from the resultant free kick Enrique himself passed the ball square into the path of Pablo running in near the penalty spot but his effort flew high over the bar. Two minutes later the same two players passed the ball between themselves before Enrique put a cross over behind the Elche defence, where Acuña was agonisingly close to connecting with his head but the ball carried on to the back post where Sesma was steaming in and headed the ball past Willy to make it 2-0 to Cadiz. Just two minutes before half time more good work between Pablo and Enrique down the right saw Enriques cross just intercepted and put out for a corner, with Sesma bearing down behind the defender waiting to tap the ball home for his hat trick. The last play of the half saw Casas free in the Cadiz area but his left footed shot was well blocked by Caneda.

The second half started well for the attacking Cadiz and just 5 minutes in Pablo spotted the keeper off his line and fired in a shot from over 30 yards out and although it went over the keeper it also cleared the bar by 2 yards. In the 55th minute it was Enriques turn as he also spotted the keeper off his line and tried exactly the same thing as Pablo, only this time he was 40 yards out and his effort was inches over the bar. In the 65th minute poor defending by Velazquez gave the Elche attack a chance on goal but the effort was a tame one and easily dealt with by Limia. Elche were still dangerous and trying to get back on terms and in the 75th minute an effort from Joaquín went inches wide of the post with Limia beaten. But within a minute of that effort Cadiz were 3-0 up when a good ball from Pablo over the top of the defence fell to Sesma on the left of the area and his cross was slotted home by the incoming De Paula.

In the 83rd minute Pablo was deputising at right back for the struggling Velazquez, who was hampered by cramp, and he pulled off a superb tackle to put an end to a very dangerous Elche attack. A couple of minutes later a good shot from outside the area was well saved by Limia diving to his left. With less than three minutes left on the clock a quick break out from the back by Pablo saw him pass wide to Sesma, who was all alone on the right but his left footed shot from the edge of the area flew inches over the bar. The final couple of minutes belonged to the visitors as firstly Limia again had to dive well to his left to keep out an effort from Joaquin but then with the very last kick of the match Casas drilled a low right foot shot from the left of the Cadiz box and it flew past the defenders and Limia to give the visitors a consolation goal.
