Only two changes from the starting line up last week, the first enforced because of the suspension of Fleurquin, after last weeks red card, saw his place taken by Abel Buades in midfield, whilst Acuņa drops to the bench with De Paula starting up front.

This looked like a definite three pointer for Cadiz in front of their superb supporters but with Lorca desperate for the points in their struggle against relegation and the general inability of los amarillos to score at home it was not going to be that easy.

From the kick off it was clear that the visitors were here to battle for everything and they gave the home players no time on the ball, which led to it becoming a bit scrappy and dour. However in the opening minutes Cadiz had a couple of chances to open the scoring and settle the nerves. Firstly the ball fell to the feet of Lucas Lobos, who in recent games has been showing the flair and skill that impressed so much at the start of the season, but his effort was well dealt with by Orlando, in the Lorca goal. The next chance went to De Paula, who put in a good header from Pablo's cross, which was well saved by Orlando, to keep the scores level. With the Lorca midfield closing down quickly Cadiz were unable to dominate and control the ball with any fluency, despite the efforts of the hard working Lobos and the lung busting runs down the left by the ever impressive Raul Lopez, who was always prepared to attack from the back. With the first half drawing to an end Pablo collected the ball and went on one of his exciting runs down the right and his cross was touched back by Sesma into the path of Miguel Garcia, whose left foot effort just scraped over the bar with the keeper well beaten. This effort stirred the team on and they had several more, unsuccessful, efforts to open the scoring before the referee blew his whistle to indicate half time.

The second half began as the first half had finished with the home side desperately looking for the win with Enrique, who had come on for Pablo, causing considerable problems for the opposition down the right and putting in some good balls into the box but as so often this season, when the ball gets into the penalty area, rarely have Cadiz been able to score. Instead the best chances came from shots from distance with Lobos again having the best effort but without being able to get that all important goal. As the minutes ticked by without the home side scoring the players were becoming increasingly tense and despite completely dominating the end of the game they were unable to create any further clear cut chances and with the stands emptying long before the final whistle, the game ended as it had started with yet another 2 points dropped at home by Cadiz.

With the second best record away from home this season it has been Cadiz' home form that has let them down and kept them out of the promotion contest. Although the team have dominated nearly all their home games they have found it very difficult to turn that dominance into goals. Additionally since the Fondo Norte was pulled down for reconstruction the atmosphere within the stadium has not been the same because much of the noise from the crowd now escapes through the gap where the Fondo Norte was and despite all the efforts of the fans to encourage los amarillos the impact of the fans on the team has not been as uplifting as normal.
