Foto jornadaThe only change to the team that started last week sees Paz return after suspension to replace Caneda, who drops to the bench. In the opening minutes both teams had good chances on goal. First for Cadiz was a free kick taken by Gustavo Lopez that flew just high of the mark, whilst at the other end only a desperate tackle from the impressive Cristian, kept the visitors at bay as two of their forwards bore down on a loose ball just a yard from the line. Real Sociedad who are battling to get into the promotion places looked to be playing the more fluid football and looked far and away the more dangerous team, whilst Cadiz looked lack lustre going forward with neither Gustavo Lopez or Kosowski able to power on and deliver any balls into a forward area that either Dani or Natalio could latch on to and time and time again the final ball was wasted. The best chances for los amarillos after that initial free kick from Gustavo Lopez was another free kick this time taken by Paz, who fired in a good effort from 25 yards out that Riesgo, the Sociedad keeper, did well to dive to his right and collect. The only other effort worth mentioning came from a Kosowski right foot volley that flew just over the bar. At the other end the visitors attacked in numbers with some great running off the ball, which opened up the Cadiz defense and caused plenty of nervous moments without actually forcing Contreras into action. That all changed in the 39th minute when Delibasic beat Paz to head a ball forward into the area and into the path of one of the midfield players breaking forward, however De la Cuesta was able to nick the ball off him but was unable to clear the ball and as the ball got tangled under his feet the Real Sociedad top scorer, De Cerio, toe poked the ball home to make it 0-1 to the visitors.

FotoRight at the start of the second half Procopio threw caution to the wind and took off Kosowski and Bezares replacing them with Enrique and Barreiro. The other change that he made was probably the most important when he pushed Paz up into midfield and played with just the three at the back. Right from the whistle to start the second half Cadiz looked like a completely different team and they played some of the best football seen at the Carranza this season. Suddenly it was all out attack and the shackles were off, they played at pace with good running off the ball and they were completely dominating the opposition. Within seven minutes of the half starting los amarillos were back on terms, Gustavo Lopez pumped a cross into the box that was headed out but only as far as Enrique, who controlled the ball well and saw Dani free in the box. He swiftly slid the ball across to Dani who took a couple of touches to control the pass but then swivelled and place a left foot shot past the despairing Riesgo to make it 1-1. Although Cadiz were playing some great football to get back on terms regrettably, at that moment, the team set up was changed back to playing four at the back with Paz reverting into the middle of the defence. Initially that move made little difference as Cadiz had the momentum and continued powering forward with Enrique, in particular, getting into some good positions and prepared to take players on, whilst Barreiro also looking to be gaining in confidence playing in the higher team and had one excellent left footed effort fly just wide of the post. Then in the 64th minute another break down the right saw Enrique put a hopeful ball forward towards Natalio but it went through to Larrea who attempted to chest the ball down ready to clear it but the lively Valencian Natalio was on to him in a flash and managed to block the clearance and run on towards goal with just the keeper to beat. With Larrea trying to make up the ground and the angle getting smaller Natalio steadied himself and fired in a low shot that went between the keepers legs and into the net to make it 2-1, with the crowd going wild.

Almost immediately the tempo of the game changed completely with Miguel Garcia coming on for Gustavo Lopez and Cadiz playing further and further back towards their own box in an effort to hold on to the lead rather than continuing to press on and kill the game. This allowed the impressive visitors more and more territorial advantage and allowed them back into the game. The final twenty minutes of the match saw Cadiz playing with just the two up front, Natalio and Barreiro, and the remaining eight outfield players virtually encamped around the Cadiz box. Despite this Real Sociedad were able to carve Cadiz open and in the 78th minute the ball was played out to the right of the Cadiz box to the Sociedad winger in acres of space. He took his time and fired a low cross over, which caused complete panic in the area but on this occasion los amarillos were finally able to clear the ball to safety after several attempts. Just four minutes later and virtually the same passage of play saw the ball again come out to the right winger free near the edge of the box. He again fired in a low cross that Contreras failed to cut out and allowed Delibasic to bundle the ball over the line with Paz desperately trying to block him. With eight minutes to go and Cadiz playing on the back foot it looked as if the best that the home supporters could hope for was for the score to remain at 2-2 but Natalio, who ran himself into the ground in the second half, had other ideas and twice in fairly quick succession he found himself as the only Cadiz player in the area with the ball at his feet, surrounded by defenders. Despite all his best efforts he was unable to twist and turn to get into a shooting position and the defense were able to clear the ball. At the other end every time the ball went into the Cadiz half it looked dangerous, despite the number of Cadiz players behind the ball but thankfully the final whistle came and the points were shared.

So close is this league that only 9 points separate the bottom 15 teams, with Cadiz still just four points above the relegation zone and every game an important one.
