Foto jornadaAnother two enforced changes this week as Paz is suspended after picking up his fifth yellow last week, whilst Miguel Garcia is also suspended after his red card last week. In comes Caneda to replace Paz and Bezares returns to replace Miguel Garcia. The only other change sees Enrique on the bench with Kosowski starting the game on the right and Gustavo Lopez returning to the left band after his injury kept him out of the team  last week. Although Racing Ferrol are just below Cadiz in the league they have been unbeaten at home during the second half of the season and so this was going to be a battle to bring some points away from La Malata.

The opening minutes of the game were shared with neither side gaining any sort of control of the game and in the early minutes it was Cadiz who came closest to scoring when a free kick from 20 yards out was rolled to Gustavo Lopez to fire a shot off on goal that Piņa, the Ferrol keeper, had to drop sharply to collect. The first real chance for the home team only came in the 35th minute when they won a free kick some 35 yards out to the left of the Cadiz box. Charpenet spotted Contreras take up a position in no mans land, outside the penalty area to the right hand side of the goal leaving the left side of the goal completely open. Charpenet simply put in a shot into the left side and Contreras was unable to make the ground up to cover that space and the ball flew into the empty net to make it 1-0 to the home team. This goal seemed to spur on the home side and they powered forward in search of a second before half time. With just seconds to go until the half time whistle another free kick on the left of the Cadiz box was put over into the area, ex Cadista, Cacique Medina, got a slight touch on the ball and Martin, following up at the far post, managed to get his knee in the way of the ball and bundle it goalwards just inside the post and although Contreras threw himself to the right and hooked the ball away, it had already crossed the line to make it 2-0 to the home side in the first half.

FotoRight at the start of the second half Procopio pushed on Casas and took off Natalio and los amarillos started to completely dominate the game as they went searching for a goal to try and get back into the match. Despite the superiority, especially down both flanks where the two Lopez' down the left and Cristian and Kosowski down the right were causing all sorts of problems for the home team, Cadiz were unable to turn their dominance into goals. In the 62nd minute Procopio threw caution to the wind, as he had done last week, by taking off Cristian and putting on Enrique, playing with just the three at the back for the final third of the match. Within minutes of this change Enrique took a free kick from the left side of the pitch and put in a great cross that Fleurquin managed to get a piece of and divert the ball into the goal to make it 2-1 and give los amarillos a chance to bring some points back home. A minute after the goal Barreiro, who had only just come on to replace Dani, managed to set Casas up but his effort bounced back into play off the post. It was all one way traffic as Cadiz pressed ever forward and Enrique fired in a good shot that Piņa had to deal with but despite all the play and the problems that Casas and Barreiro were causing the defense, the home team held on to their lead to take the three points and move to just one point behind Cadiz in the table.

After two successive defeats Cadiz are now just 4 points above the relegation places, although only 4 points off of seventh place, so tight is this league and with many of the lower sides picking up good results recently los amarillos need to pick up points sooner rather than later so that they are not drawn into the relegation battle and next weeks game at the Carranza against Real Sociedad, who are battling for a promotion place, suddenly takes on a whole new importance.
