Cadiz started brightly, and looked more like the team that scored three in the Mestalla than the team which relied on a controversial penalty against Betis. Without creating any real chances, Cadiz seemed in control of the match and looked to be containing Zaragoza until a seemly routine freekick found Savio in space, and the ex-Real Madrid player made no mistake, though Limia got a touch as the ball went in. Just the tonic the home crowd were looking for after losing their Copa Del Rey final against Espanyol (Who beat Cadiz in the quarter finals) in the week. With the fact that Cadiz have not won a game this season after falling behind the few travelling fans were sensing a defeat which realistically would have condemned Cadiz to relegation. In the next few minutes their fears were growing as Ewerthon, Milito and Savio all had chances to extend the lead, Ewerthon especially. Enrique almost broke against the run of play for the equaliser after good play from Pavoni, but when caught between shooting or squaring for Sesma he did neither. At least it was an encouraging step. With half time rapidly approaching Lucas Lobos won a penalty when he was fouled by Milito, and the Argentine once again took responsibility and scored the equaliser himself. If Cadiz do the unthinkable and stay up, Lobos will have to play a big part in the remaining games as his influence grows week by week.
