With Ormazabal sidelined because of suspension Fragoso is moved into midfield with Mansilla returning to the centre of the defence. After the surprising defeat on Saturday at the Carranza this was going to be a real tough test for los amarillos and it was the home team who started with confidence as Burrezo just clipped the outside of the Cadiz post with a shot in the very first minute. The local manager had obviously done his homework as the bands were closed down quickly as was Caballero, so often the playmaker for Cadiz, and much of the first half was a midfield battle with neither side making much progress towards the goal. This lack of attacking play even forced Toedtli to drop more into the centre of the park looking for the ball and in the first half Cadiz only managed a couple of tame shots just before the break that were easily dealt with by the home side.

At the very start of the second period Gracia introduced Manu Barreiro for the ineffectual Caballero to try and change the rythym of the game, whether that change had any bearing but just ten minutes into the half Cadiz won a corner on the left and Lopez Silva took it, as Caballero, the normal corner taker was off the pitch, and his cross to the back post was met by the Argentinain, Toedtli, who rose above everyone and nod the ball home off the back of his head for another vital and instinctive goal and make it 0-1 to Cadiz. With the home side now being forced forward to try and get back into the game holes started to open up across the pitch and Lopez Silva, Enrique and Toedtli all managed to create some danger around the box but without being able to increase the lead. In the 73rd minute Juanma took to the field replacing Lopez Silva for his first taste of a match for some time and he immediately created some problems down the left for the Antequera right back. In the 78th minute he played in Enrique in front of an open goal but the right winger had one of those moments that he'd rather forget when he ballooned the ball high over the bar. Although his blushes were spared when he was adjudged to be in an offside position. The match ended 0-1 with Cadiz taking all three points, which has increased their lead at the top of the table following the points dropped by the second and third placed teams, Jaen, who lost and Ejido, who drew.
