Cadiz earned their first home point of the season thanks to captain Oli's equaliser on the stroke of half time. Cadiz started brightly and had a goal disallowed on 13 minutes when Enrique was adjudged to have scored from an offside decision. Villareal then scored against the run of play when Josémari slotted past Armando in the 28th minute. A minute later is was Jonathan Sesmas turn to have a goal disallowed, again for offside. Oli's header levelled matters on the stroke of half-time, but neither team were able to take all 3 points in the second half.
