The only team change this week sees Fleurquin return with Parri starting from the bench. On a pretty chilly night Cadiz came looking for all three points to kick start the second half of this seasons campaign and in only the second minute it looked as if it was going to be the perfect start for them. A good passage of play saw Gustavo Lopez pass to Fleurquin who played the ball out to Kosowski, who slipped the ball through the defence into the path of Gustavo Lopez, who had made a great run into the box. He then squared the ball back across the box into the path of Natalio who shot perfectly aiming at the inside of the far post and it looked as if it was going to be 0-1 but Cuellar, the Eibar keeper, flung himself to his right and with his outstretched arm just managed to tip the ball round for a corner. In the 17th minute of the encounter with Cadiz well in control of the match Gustavo Lopez swung over a corner from the right using his left foot and the inswinging ball sailed over everybody and crashed into the inside of the far post before rebounding back into the centre of the box where Fleurquin flung himself at the ball only to see his effort fly high over the bar. A couple of minutes later and Contreras was called into action for his first touch of the game when he had to go down sharply to intercept a cross along the ground from the left winger, who had got the better of Vicente.

In the 33rd minute and the home team had there best effort of the game so far when Medina headed a free kick just wide of the mark, although Contreras had it well covered. Four minutes later and Raul Lopez volleyed a corner from namesake, Gustavo Lopez, high and wide of the mark. A few minutes later and Raul Lopez was again called into the action, this time at the other end of the pitch, when he headed a dangerous free kick over the bar to safety. Then with just a minute to go to half time Eibar were awarded a free kick out by the sidelines about 25 yards out. Martino took the kick with his left foot and the low ball bounced through the crowd of players, and may have taken a very slight deflection off a Cadiz leg, before the ball curled round hitting the inside of the far post and into the back of the net, with Contreras unable to stop it despite his despairing dive. So despite having the better chances and outplaying Eibar for most of the half Cadiz found themselves going in 1-0 down at half time.

Within two minutes of the restart Eibar almost made it two nil when Del Olmo had a good effort from 20 yards out fly just over the bar. In the 52nd minute Bangoura managed to get a header goalwards but there was little power behind it and the keeper easily caught the ball. In the 59th minute another good passage of play from Cadiz saw Natalio slip the ball to his right into the path of Gustavo Lopez who fired in another super left foot shot that Cuellar had to leap to touch it over the bar. Seven minutes later and Cadiz were awarded a free kick on the edge of the box, Parri rolled it behind him to Gustavo Lopez who had another blistering left foot shot that flew goalwards but Cuellar again managed to get in the way. This time he could only parry the ball away and it flew quickly to the right of the goal where Enrique tried to head the ball back from a difficult position but his effort flew high and wide of the mark.

In the 69th minute Contreras, who was a virtual bystander, had to be on his toes to palm away an inswinging corner that was heading for the top corner. From then on it was all Cadiz pressure as they powered on looking for goals. In the 75th minute Bangoura nodded the ball back into the path of Fran who fired over from 25 yards out. A few minutes later Caneda was in the opposition area for a free kick and was then bundled over on the edge of the area as he went for a loose ball. Up stepped Parri who fired a low shot that went through the wall but again the Eibar keeper was good enough to drop down and collect the effort. In the 85th minute Parri crossed from the right and Bangoura attempted an overhead kick that went a couple of yards wide of the goal. With time running out De la Cuesta collected the ball on the left after a corner was headed out, he clipped the ball back across the box where Natalio headed it back to Bangoura who headed it goalwards but his effort was half blocked and the ball fell near the feet of Enrique just a yard from goal. He managed to turn and get a touch on the ball but just before the ball crossed the line Larranaga booted the ball away with the keeper beaten and so the game ended with another loss for los amarillos. This was a good display from Cadiz and they really should not have lost this game but if they continue playing like they did today they must surely start moving up the table into a safer position.
