The only team changes to the starting line up for this difficult trip to Ceuta sees both Casilla and Raul Lopez return after their one match suspension. The match started with both teams quickly out of the starting blocks and just 12 minutes into the game Lopez Silva claimed a penalty for being brought down in the box but what he got instead was a yellow card from the referee for, presumably, diving. However after those opening minutes it was the home team who were looking dangerous especially through the speedy Elvis and Alvaro and in the 19th minute Elvis fired just the wrong side of the post with Casilla well beaten. A few minutes later and the Cadiz keeper was again beaten by a free kick from Fas that smashed into the bar and then just two minutes later the inevitable goal was to come when Caballero lost possession in the centre of the park and Alvaro fired in a left footed shot from 20 yards out that flew into the net to make it 1-0 to the home team. Los amarillos tried to match their opponents and Ormazabal volleyed a pass from Enrique into the hands of Lledo, the Ceuta keeper, but it was the home team who looked the more powerful and likely to score again before half time. In the 37th minute the Cadiz defense were all over the place, after a mistake by Casilla, with the ball bouncing around in their box before finally being cleared behind for a corner and then a few minutes later Duque had a fine shot that was thankfully off target.

At the start of the second half it looked as if the team talk from Gracia had worked as Cadiz started to claw their way back into the game with the wingers Enrique and Lopez Silva coming more into the game and the midfield beginning to pick out some telling passes. The first effort of the half from los amarillos came after Caballero found Ormazabal racing through but the Argentinians header was pushed behind by Lledo and then in the 60th minute the breakthrough came and it was again the astute Caballero who slid a pass through for Enrique to race onto and round the keeper before clipping his left footed shot in off the bar to make it all square. Nine minutes later and the goal scorer turned provider when he put the ball through for Lopez Silva to latch onto before slipping the ball beyond Lledo to make it 1-2. With Cadiz playing much better Gracia took off Caballero and through on the defender Mansilla, which seemed to kick life back into the home team and the final ten minutes it was Ceuta virtually laying siege to the Cadiz goal and some last ditch defending from Raul Lopez, Juanma and Mansilla kept the home team at bay and finally Casilla pulled off a good one handed save to thwart Alberto and leave Cadiz as the victors in a very tough contest.
