null : El Cádiz vuelve de vacío de CórdobaWith a an extremely rare Friday night kick off in the Segunda A because of local fiestas the team news tonight sees Cifu return, after suspension, at left back with Fragoso starting in midfield replacing Ormazabal who is relegated to the bench. On a cold and very damp night with a rain soaked pitch it was Cadiz who looked like the home side from the first whistle and looked the more likely to score. The first chance fell to Fragoso who fired in a shot after just eight minutes that was off the mark but shortly afterwards it was Cordoba who tried to open the scoring when Pepe Diaz fired in a long shot that was also high of the goal. Then after little more than 12 minutes had been played the ball was played through the flat back line of Cordoba and the lively Enrique raced on to the ball but was pushed wide and as he pushed on into the area Navas, the Cordoba keeper, narrowed the angle forcing the Cadiz forward to try a left footed shot from a narrow angle that although it beat Navas it went into the side netting. A few minutes later and Casilla was called to action to claim the ball in a dangerous position but still it was los amarillos who looked the more dangerous and Nano cut in from the left wing and fired in a great right foot shot that Navas could only parry before one of his defenders headed the loose ball behind for a corner. A couple of minutes later in the 25th minute Toedtli took a free kick just outside the Cordoba area on the left and fired in a good right footed effort that Navas had to dive to his right to collect near the base of the post. In the 38th minute a goal for Cadiz after a good move between Cristian, Enrique and Toedtli, saw the Argentian slip the ball through for Enrique to run onto and clip the ball over Navas and into the net but as he turned to celebrate he noticed the linesman flag was up for offside and the 'goal' was ruled out. Television replays showed that the Cadiz player was in line with the defenders when the ball was played through by Toedtli but thats the way things are going for los amarillos at the moment. This was soon followed by a thunderous left footed free kick from Nano that the Cordoba keeper had to jump to tip over the bar. Heading towards half time the home side broke down the left and Lizio clipped the ball into the Cadiz box where Asen had been left by Mansilla and had plenty of time to try and control the ball but he rushed a header that was high of the goal and the half ended as it had started at 0-0.

null : El Cádiz vuelve de vacío de CórdobaAt the start of the second half after just three minutes the ball was handled by Carpintero just outside of the box and the Cordoba player was lucky not to pick up a second yellow card. Enrique took the resultant free kick and forced Navas to dive swiftly to his right to save the ball near the base of the post. Then in the 54th minute Nano fired in a shot that was blocked and bounced out to the Cordoba left back who quickly played the ball forward to Lizio still in his own half and he raced forward with plenty of yellow shirts around him but he managed to continue on avoiding half tackles from at least three Cadiz players before slipping the ball back to Pepe Diaz who smashed the ball past a helpless Casilla to put the home side 1-0 up against the run of play. However after the goal the roles were reversed as it was the white and greens of Cordoba who looked to take control of the game, although Cadiz didn´t give up they were playing desperate looking football with little control. Lopez Silva did race into the Cordoba box and looked to be clearly pushed but the referee waved away the penalty claims from los amarillos. Then at the other end the ball was crossed from the right and smashed into the trailing hand of Mansilla and the referee blew for a free kick for Cordoba but in fact it should have been a penalty as Mansilla was almost a yard inside the area when the ball hit his hand. Although Abraham, Tristan and Ramis tried shots from distant none were in any danger of going in and it was the home side who looked the more dangerous going forward and the more likely to double their lead but at the final whistle it was still just the 1-0 and another three points gone astray for Cadiz.
