FotoThe first away game of the season saw Cadiz travel to Tenerife, who they lost to in their final pre-season friendly less than 2 weeks ago. The starting line up for los amarillos sent out by Garcia Remon was the same eleven that started last weeks game against Granada 74.

The home side started strongly looking to get their supporters on their side  and in the opening minutes Longas had a good shot that went wide and then Yago was called into action to foil a strong attack from the men in white. After the initial onslaught Cadiz started to get into the game with much of the decisive action going through Lucas Lobos.

The game was evenly balanced with both sides attacking strongly but without really causing the keepers any trouble. However with less than 10 minutes to half time that all changed when a cross from the right fell to the feet of Nino with only Contreras to beat and he calmly slotted the ball home to make it 1-0 to Tenerife. Cádiz came back strongly looking to equalise before the break and both Casas and Dani had half chances that they were unable to convert and so the score remained 1-0 at the break.

FotoThe way that Cadiz finished the first half expectations were high that they would be able to get back on level terms but it was Tenerife who started the second half strongly and within five minutes of the restart the home team were 2-0 ahead when Ayoze headed the ball home after a cross into the Cadiz area.Shortly after the second goal Remon threw on Pavoni and Diego Rivas in place of Bezares and Fleurquin looking for more penetration in attack. Although Cadiz controlled the rest of the game they were unable to score despite having a couple of chances from corners and a great piece of individual play from Nano, who had come on with just 15 minutes left, also came to nothing.

This was not a bad performance but it was a poor result and Cadiz will now look to get back to winning ways next Sunday at the Carranza when they take on Salamanca. Kick off for this game is at 12.00 as it is being televised on Canal Plus.
