Oli
made only one change to the team that outplayed Vecindario last week, with
Jonathan Sesma adding pace to the attack in place of Medina. Although Tenerife
started quite well, Cadiz soon started to regain possession, and like last week
the emphasis seemed to be on retaining the ball and waiting for Lobos, Sergio
and Miguel Garcia to carve out an opening. For the first twenty minutes or so
the visitors looked comfortable, but midway through the first half Lobos turned
too quickly, and his knee appeared to twist as his studs stuck in the turf.
Medina stripped off and came on to join De Paula up front, with Sesma dropping
deeper. The forced change affected the away sides rhythm, and Tenerife enjoyed
more of the play. They nearly opened the scoring with a superb left footed
freekick by Ricardo from 35 yards, but Armando produced a top class save when
diverting the ball onto the post. Surprisingly it kicked Cadiz back into life,
and before half time they had some decent chances – a Garcia cross almost got
deflected in at the near post, Sesma superbly set up Medina who’s shot was
well saved by Bernado, and then Sesma’s fierce shot flew inches wide.
Next up is Murcia’s visit to the Carranza, where they will be hoping to be the first team to score and take points off of Los Amarillos. The Team Armando Vella Cesar Caneda De Quintana Raul Lopez
