Another load of changes this week with Erice suspended and Raul Lopez out injured for at least a month, Fragoso moves up into midfield with Alvaro Silva returning after suspension to partner Mansilla, Cifuentes moves back across to his normal left back position and Cristian returns, after suspension, to the right back position. Across the middle Abraham starts in place of Ormazabal, who had a bit of a nightmare game last week, Lopez Silva moves back to the left wing and Enrique returns after injury to his normal right wing and Fran Cortes starts in the role of playmaker with just Tristan playing up front. The trip back to the impressive Anoeta stadium in the North of Spain for Javier Gracia, where he played most of his professional football, looked like it might turn out to be a make or break game for the young Cadiz trainer, who is undoubtedly under pressure with los amarillos dangerously in the relegation zone. After a heavy overnight snow storm the ground staff had to clear the pitch of several centimetres of snow if there was any chance of the match being played, regrettably for the visitors they managed to complete the task and so the match was able to kick off at 18.00 with the sky looking full of even more snow. After an initial effort from Aramburu after three minutes that Mansilla managed to block on the line it was Cadiz who opened the scoring when in the seventh minute a play started down the left through Lopez Silva ended with the ball parried out by Bravo, the Real keeper, but the ball went to Abraham who shot first time and Diego Tristan got a touch to take the ball into the back of the net to make it 0-1 to the visitors. Unfortunately the Cadiz happiness was shortlived as just four minutes later Aramburu pounced on a loose ball, which should have been cleared, in the Cadiz area and beat Casilla to make it 1-1. With the game now all square and the snow falling heavily the home team tried to take control of the field but los amarillos were battling well and Tristan, of all the Cadiz players, was looking the most impressive against a quality side and he forced a good save from Bravo in the 19th minute and a couple of minutes later fired in a free kick from just outside the area that was just the wrong side of the post. A minute later and Agirretxe beat Casilla but the referee ruled the īgoalī offside and the score remained 1-1. The bad luck seems to keep following this Cadiz side at the moment and the impressive and influential Tristan was forced off the pitch after just 33 minutes through injury to be replaced by Toedtli. Before the end of the half Casilla was called to bring off a good save to thwart Labaka and the half ended 1-1 with the visitors performing well.

A minute into the second half and it was the beginning of the end for Cadiz when a bad misunderstanding between Cristian, Mansilla and Casilla ended with Cristian trying to clear the ball which smacked into the back of Mansilla and bounced free to the feet of Aguiretxe who was able to easily put the ball into the open Cadiz goal to make it 2-1. With los amarillos now behind and forced to chase the game the home side were able to soak up any pressure and pretty easily keep the visitors at bay, so much so, that it wasnīt until very late into the game that Toedtli managed to force Bravo into the only save he had to make in the half. With Cadiz forced to attack Real were able to make use of the spaces that were opening up and they looked dangerous whenever they got the ball. Despite looking strong in attack the third goal for the home side came in the 76th minute from a free kick taken by  Elustondo, which bounced off the knee of Abraham and deviated the ball past a helpless Casilla. On the stroke of full time another poor defensive mistake, this time from Cifuentes, who lost the ball, gave Griezemann the chance to beat Casilla to make it 4-1. There was still time left for Xabi Prieto to get the ball in the net to make it 5-1 but the referee ruled the effort out for a debatable offside and so the final score was a very disappointing 4-1 and it leaves los amarillos well and truly in the drop zone and looking short of confidence.
