Foto jornadaThe only change to the team that started last week is Bezares coming in for the injured Diego Rivas. Todays match at the impressive Estadio Anoeta is against Real Sociedad, who were relegated at the end of last season after being in the Primera Liga for many years, even finishing second in the 2002/03 season. Along with Cadiz they were seen as one of the favourites for promotion back to the top league but, like Cadiz, they have had internal problems with the President standing down last month and a new manager at the start of the season, with ex-Fulham boss, Chris Coleman, now at the reins. With Real Sociedad picking up a win against league leaders Malaga in their last home game at the Anoeta and another point last week away at high flying Sevilla Athletico, the blue and whites from San Sebastian seem to be running into form and with Cádiz also picking up good points in the last month this looked as if it was going to be a good contest but it had 0-0 written all over it.

Foto estadioFrom the first whistle the home team came out strongly driving Cadiz back on to the back foot and it was Larrea who created the first real chance but without causing any danger to Contreras. Gradually Cadiz got back into the game and it was end to end stuff but with no real good goal scoring opportunities falling to either side. The next chance fell to Delibasic in the 15th minute but again his effort didn't trouble Contreras. As the half wore on Cadiz were looking more in control of the action with Lobos, in particular, and Dani, causing problems to the home defense and the home team were left looking for the long ball to their front man, Delibasic, to try and score but the Cadiz central defenders were more than a match for the number 9. For Cadiz the best chance of the half fell to Nano in the 38th minute, when good work from Lobos saw his pass fall nicely to the big Galician, but his strong left footed shot flew just over the bar and the score remained goalless at the half time whistle.

The second half continued in the same vane as the first half with good play at pace but with few chances being created, however all that could have changed in the 59th minute when Lobos picked up the ball in a forward position with los amarillos in a three against two situation, with Enrique and Dani to either side of the Argentinian but Lobos continued his run into the box trying to go between 2 defenders and went down as he was approaching the keeper just yards from the goal, shouting for a penalty but the referee only indicated a corner for Cadiz and nothing more. Shortly afterwards the danger came from Real Sociedad when the ball was bouncing loose in the Cadiz box and took a touch from a Real Sociedad player but luckily for Cadiz the ball clipped the post and bounced wide for a goal kick. as the game headed towards full time the home team piled on the pressure again to try and get the result but the yellows of Cadiz were able to deal with all that was thrown at them and the game finished as it had started with both teams walking away with a point.
