BACK TO FIXTURES & RESULTS

GAME
At last something different to try and turn the fortunes of a rather
beleaguered Cadiz. Casilla returns between the sticks after his one match
suspension, the back four remain the same, Enrique starts down the right to
replace Lopez Silva who is suspended for this match. Caballero starts from the
bench whilst up front Tristan starts alongside Ogbeche in a 4-4-2 formation
instead of the usual 4-5-1. After the recent poor run of results Cadiz could not
have started better when after just 6 minutes had elapsed Nano Gonzalez beat the
Celta right back for pace and put in a great cross to the far post where the
ball bounced around between Enrique, Ogbeche and a couple of defenders and the
Celta keeper before Cristian clipped the ball back over his head and into the
net to make it 1-0. Five minutes later and Nano was defending in the Cadiz box
when he stuck a leg out and Alpas went tumbling, looking like a certain penalty, but the
footballing gods were, for a change, shining down on los amarillos today and the
referee waved away the penalty claims from the Celta players and awarded a goal
kick to Cadiz. A couple of minutes later and Cadiz broke down the right where
Ogbeche just managed to keep the ball in play, he then raced inside past a
couple of defenders before firing in a good left foot shot that Falco, the Celta
keeper, did well to palm aside. On the quarter hour the visitors were attacking around the Cadiz
area and the ball came out to Tristan who played the ball out to the right where
Enrique, in his own half, was free of his markers racing in to the opposition
half with just the keeper ahead of him. To his credit the right winger, who has
not sparkled much this season, galloped on with two defenders snapping at his heels until he made it to the Celta box and as
Falcon came out
to narrow the angle Enrique clipped the ball over him and into the net to make
it 2-0. Playing this more attacking formation it did allow the visitors a lot
more possession but, by and large, the Cadiz goal was rarely troubled, although
Mallo did have one cross shot that clipped the cross bar with Casilla well
beaten. However most of the dangerous plays were coming from the home team with
Nano Gonzalez having one of his best games whilst playing for Cadiz and his
crossing and dead ball plays with a lethal looking left foot were causing all
sorts of problems for Celta. Another player who shone today was Diego Tristan
who, although lacking a bit of pace, showed some very intelligent control and
use of the ball whilst still tackling back to help the cause, which earned him a
rousing cheer from the cadistas on one occasion when he finally tracked the ball
chasing after three opponents forcing an error. In the final minute of the half
Celta broke down the right with Cadiz looking secure with numbers in the box but
Mallo slid the ball square along the floor, which at least three Cadiz players
failed to intercept and it went through to Joselu who had absolutely no trouble
converting from a couple of yards out to end the half 2-1.
With spectators still returning to their seats at the start of the second half
Cadiz were another goal up when, in the very first play of the half, the ball
was played down the left wing after a good interception and break by Cifuentes
who played the ball forward for Nano to beat the right back by sheer pace and
he then clipped the ball in to the box where it bounced off Ogbeche and went to Tristan
who controlled it well with his chest and
then fired in to make it 3-1. As in the first half the visitors saw plenty of
the ball but Casilla was never really troubled, although the Cadiz defense
didn't really look to be in control but instead it always seemed to be
desperation defending, helped on several occasions by the great game reading by
Erice, who foiled the imminent danger from the visitors with some superb
tackling and interceptions. By allowing Celta the ball to attack on at least
three occasions los amarillos were able to break swiftly with two against two or
three against three but on each occasion they completely failed to take
advantage of the situation by getting anywhere near the opposition area by some
appalling passing and decision making, which led to the breakdown of the
opportunities. With five minutes to go Tristan fired in a free kick from 20
yards out that flew over the wall but it was inches the wrong side of the post
with Falcon looking completely beaten and the game ended with Cadiz the victors
3-1 and a vital three points.

Second half highlights
The following minutes were a tracing of that happened in the first part, only
cone different script since the Celtic one didn't make any goal. The Cádiz left
the ball to the celestial group that attempted it in all the possible ways, with
a trainer, Eusebio Sexton that decided to bet for the offensive game when giving
entrance to Basque Fernándes for Hugo Mallo.
THE CELTIC one THE INTENTASaulo was
the most incisive
player and maybe Javi Grace decided for that reason to substitute Cifu putting
in the game land to Jaume Costa that debuted since in Carranza the other
encounter that disputed it was in Albacete.
In spite of the assaults of the Celtic one, the marker didn't move again.
Neither on the part of the Cádiz that could have marked the room if Ogbeche and
Tristán had understood each other. The sevillano, also, executed a lack in the
minute 85 that it came out very plaster to the goal of Falcon.
They subtracted few minutes so that the collegian pointed out the end of the
encounter and for once the tranquility was noticed so much in the game land like
in the tier, players and liking they knew that the victory this time he/she was
not able to and he/she won't escape and for that reason at the end they
celebrated it together.
Next week the Cádiz CF will travel to Elche with a baggage loaded with
morals to try to get three new points that give him wings in the classification.
