Foto jornadaAfter last weeks victory against Xerez Antonio Calderon keeps the same starting line up against Albacete.

It was clear from the kick off why both teams are struggling at the moment with much of the play taking place across the park with very limited attacking plays. Of the two teams Albacete were looking the slightly more dangerous and in the fourth minute Barkero took a free kick from outside the area that was just wide of Contreras' right hand post. The home team seemed to think that there was a weakness in the Cadiz defense and they constantly tried playing down the left wing against Vella and in the eighth minute a cross from that side was headed goalwards by Meyong Ze but was easily held by Contreras. Although Bezares and Fleurquin were solid in midfield, rarely allowing any clear attacking opportunities to Albacete, regrettably los amarillos were lacking in any penetration themselves going forward. Although the ball was played wide to Lopez and Enriques whenever possible the final ball in was never met by any commitment by any Cadiz player attacking the ball or the cross was easily caught by Javi Martinez, in the home goal. There were occasions of silky smooth ball control from both Lopez and Lobos but for all their skill neither was able to play the ball into a dangerous area and again the ball, in attack, was wasted and at half time, rather predictably, the teams left the field with the score still standing at 0-0.

FotoNot a great deal changed in the second half, although Cadiz up the paced a bit and continued using the wide men but the final ball was never good enough or attacked enough by a Cadiz player. Shortly after the start of the half De La Cuesta had to go off injured and his place was taken by Caneda, but he has played many times in the centre of the defense and filled in with no problem. However it was Albacete who had the best effort on goal again, when Moran took a free kick, which Contreras had to save well to keep the score level. As the home team Albacete were trying to please their fans but they, like Cadiz, lack any real firepower upfront and so it was fairly easy for los amarillos to deal with whatever the home team threw at them. Suddenly things started happening for Cadiz when in the 66th minute an effort by Gustavo Lopez was palmed away by the keeper and Enrique was first to react with the ball loose in the area but his left foot shot, with the goal looking open in front of him, went over the bar. A few minutes later and Gustavo Lopez was fouled just outside the Albacete area. Up stepped Lucas Lobos to fire in the direct free kick, past the despairing Martinez to put the visitors one nil up.

The final twenty minutes belonged to Albacete as they threw everything they had at Cadiz in an attempt to get back on terms but the yellow defense is pretty solid and apart from a couple of half chances they were not troubled and they picked up a second consecutive win to help the long climb back up the table. However despite another three points it is still abundantly clear that Cadiz are very lightweight upfront and rarely have any clear goal scoring opportunities from open play but instead have to rely on scoring from dead ball situations. If los amarillos are to continue climbing the table they must, somehow, resolve this situation.
