Galician winger Da Silva, known as Nano, came up through the ranks at Barcelona from youth team to the first team, although he only managed a few appearances as sub in the Primera Liga for Barca. He then went to Athletico Madrid in 2003 and was a regular during his first season there but the following year only managed 11 appearances for the first team. Last year he was sold to Getafe but failed to make a first team place his own and only made 8 appearances before being sold to Cadiz at the start of this season. Nano has a wealth of experience and it is to be hoped that he will live up to expectations and play to his undoubted ability.
